So I really like the Vivian Girls. I got to see them perform in Memphis and they are such a great combo of cute and bad ass and seem so laid back. Pretty much I wish those girls were my bffs. Both Cassie Ramone and Katy Goodman have done independent projects recently, and I finally acquired the new albums!  Miss Ramone is now in the Babies, and La Sera is headed by Katy. Good stuff.

avoidance

I really have been in the mood to paint, but alas have not found the time. I made some watercolors but I would really like to get down and dirty with some oils. I want the challenge of making some art that I have to think about before making any marks, but don't have any brilliant ideas as of yet. Working at camp kills my drive to accomplish anything besides watching movies, which is not good because I should be deciding what I want to do with my life. But that's stressful, so I'm doing my darndest to avoid it. If you see me in the near future feel free to shame and reprimand me.

Also you should check out "I Want My Hat Back" by Jon Klassen because it is absolutely great. Simple and hilarious. Look how cute that bear is!

new embroidery

So my lovely mama and I are collaborating on a dress and I am crazy happy because the dress is for me! She laid out the pattern on the simple white cotton I chose and I am embroidering the collar and pockets before she cuts and sews so that it will be all proffesional-like. It's gonna be super summery and comfy, I can't wait until it is done!

birthday

Well I sure had a good birthday. I spent the whole day preparing, I made a super delicious lemon lime raspberry cake, beet cheddar and apple tarts, black bean cakes and some awesome punch that included pineapple and cranberry juice, 7up and coconut rum. Needless to say it was all amazing, my friends also brought some great treats, and my grandma made some cake strawberries! I of course forgot to take as many pictures as I should have and also of course I didn't get a good one of myself except with my eyes closed. I'll live I suppose. I also included a picture of my new KitchenAid mixer! It is tangerine and so so pretty. I also got a cuisine art food processor and used both of my amazing new appliances to make my birthday goodies.

I got in the mood again, so here they are. I love wearing my necklaces out, I tend to get lots of compliments and it's nice to have my ego fed every once in a while. Remember, even though I love to wear them, I would love even more for you to wear them, so you should buy one!

sneak peek

Well I'm preparing for my party next weekend and I thought I would share some of the decorations I have made cuz I'm pretty darn excited about them. I also made this ridiculously large flower crown but have decided to use my better judgement and make a less huge one for the shindig. I just spent a couple hours looking for tasty recipes so now I'm hungry and I want the party to be now.
