The start of fall was evident at work last week, suddenly the flowers were no longer all bright and pastel but richly saturated blooms and berries that are a bit less traditional. I love it! Especially the bittersweet vine and the crabapple branches.

I'm always missing something/some place. This time last year I was in Ireland and it seems unfathomable that it has been that long. I miss the old house and the gorgeous grounds and the market chock full of the friendliest people selling the most beautiful food and the meals Rick would make from it. But not the cold and the damp.

These black bean burgers I made were excellent, I will definitely be making them again, though will possibly switch the recipe up a bit more than I did. I don't like cooked peppers so I left those out but the avocado sour cream lime garlic combo is fantastic. Perhaps a sweet potato addition next time?

I did my first bride's bouquet almost two weeks ago but somehow neglected to post anything last week, whoops! What with my camera being rather non-functional, taking pictures of this was a bit hard but I was so excited that I took my first ever bathroom mirror selfie. It didn't work out well so I got my coworker to take a picture and he told me to look as though I had just won a prize, hence the look of insanity.

The weather is starting to shift and this Saturday was unbelievably beautiful. The wedding I worked was early so I got to enjoy this drink on my deck and read a bit before going thrifting. I muddled some black berries, threw in some lime, blood orange soda, splash of tonic water and of course vodka. Good stuff.

I quite liked this wedding, it was a great combination of blooms and Puritan Mill is one of the venues I like best. I was able to do all the arrangements for this wedding except the brides bouquet which was exciting for me. It's kind of cool thinking that you have contributed so much to someone's special day. I do wish I had been able to get a better image of the chuppah but I currently have to hold the battery flap closed while taking photos because it's broken, which makes for awkward picture taking.

I am definitely making a calendar again this year, so if you've been fretting and waiting and hoping, your troubles are at an end! Here is a sneak peek at the kind of style it will be. Not to say that this one is even done, but this gives you the gist of things. Thoughts? Do you like this more or less than last years, and if you don't like it as much I'd love to know why.

I probably mentioned on here how all of my jewelry was stolen a while ago and I still have days where I go to put on a certain necklace only to remember that I don't have it anymore, it's honestly still upsetting. However, since I got insurance money I decided to put some of it towards a commissioned set by two lovely ladies I have known for a very long time (since we went to art camp together!) Margaret and Ellen have recently started their own jewelry business, Geoflora. Ellen tends towards brighter colors and geometrics while Margaret does more nature based work, it's a great collaboration. They made me this gorgeous matching set after I told them the designs and colors I preferred and it is all I hoped it would be! (And check out the sweet gifts they sent as well as the cute packaging!)

The arrangements I like tend to be on the wild side, making "modern" arrangements isn't really my thing, though I can do it and a lot of people like that style. It's been a while since I took flowers home but I made sure to pick out some this week since there were so many gorgeous blooms. Especially the pink snowberries, the pinkish sedum, the white wax flower (which smells like lemons!) and the purple bloom that is in the onion family.

I made my Grandma some possible birthday invitations, I hope she likes one of them! They look a little kid-ish to me, but I think she will think they are cute and fun which is what she wanted. The images look a little fuzzy, but maybe that's because they are screen shots? Also I cannot stress to you the amazingness of Lost Type Co-op, if you aren't familiar with it you should be.
