I love quiche

I've been really good about cooking since I've been in Atlanta. That is until last weekend. I had an un-fun day and had to work Saturday morning so I decided to have chips and beer for dinner while I caught up on some tv shows and boy did I enjoy myself! But I will get back to healthier stuff soon. Like quiche, it's the best! Lots of protein, and whatever veggies and cheese I want (the second one pictured was the best with broccoli and feta). The cute empanada/calzones had kale, lentils and sweet potatoes and were great, though they took forever and a half to make. Check out my pinterest if you want these recipes.

wintry blues

Seriously winter needs to leave now. The problem with public transportation is that it seems to magnify the weather making cold rainy days that much worse. But at least I have colorful flowers to brighten things up, and in case you care about names of flowers (I'm working on learning them) from top to bottom we have craspedia balls and brunia berries; tulips (duh); and the last arrangement has anemones, thistle and dusty miller. Those gorgeous beads were given to me by one of my sweet coworkers, and I can't wait to make something beautiful out of them!

I actually made some paintings! Small ones, but still they count. I should really start painting all the flowers I bring home.

My other Valentine's project was for work. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens had a Valentine's party, and so we made this for people to take silly pictures with. I got the idea from this Salvador Dali piece "The Face of Mae West Which Can be Used as an Apartment"

Valentine's

Ugh, I've been slacking with this blog and art making in general. My new life still hasn't found a great rhythm yet in terms of doing other stuff besides working and watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I need to work on that, though part of the problem is that I haven't move in to my own space yet, so I don't have basically any of my belongings besides clothes and paint. Two of my favorite things, but sometimes not enough. Anyways, here are some cards I made and sent to my special Valentine's.

busy busy

Well, this is what I've been up to for the last few weeks. I'm working two jobs, one for a great company that does florals for wedding and all kinds of events and one as a nanny a few times a week. I must say it's rather tiring, and I don't like spending so much time traveling to both jobs, but they are both great! My days fly by and I'm getting to think creatively. Plus, I get to bring beautiful flowers home on a regular basis!
