NYC trip

This past week I went up to New York City for a friend visit. I figured it was time I tried again since my first trip to the city wasn't the best ever, probably because I was a mopey teenager. This time I didn't make a schedule or anything, we mostly just wandered around and didn't stress about seeing all the things we "should." The best part, besides my lovely friends of course, was the food. Some of my favorite eats/shopping were dumplings in chinatown, mind-blowing creations at Waffle and Wolf, awesome pie and styling at Four & Twenty Blackbirds, cheap arcade games at Barcade, surprisingly affordable vintage at Beacon's Closet, breakfast at Jimmy's Diner after a night of dancing at Glasslands, and a drool-worthy collection of books/zines/prints at Desert Island where I bought the amazing print. I mostly spent money on food since the attractions we went to were either cheap or free. The Met is technically pay as you can, the Staten Island Ferry, Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge are of course all free, and ice skating at prospect park was about $15 but completely worth it. So doing NYC on the cheap is totally possible if you have a bit of self restraint.
