announcement designs

I did some design work for some friends, sisters who are both graduating. I don't tend to do graphic design, I certainly am not trained for it but I'd like to think I'm alright. The first design is the one I really wanted her to pick, it was one of my first hastily done options for her, but she ended up with the second one. Same goes for Claire's set, I secretly wanted her to go for the apples, and while she liked them, she chose the second style. But that's what I always have trouble accepting, not everyone has my taste and I need to respect that. And I'm fairly satisfied with how they turned out, both finished announcements have an inside with more info, I just didn't feel like showing y'all those. 

Puritan Mill

This venue, Puritan Mill, is pretty darn gorgeous and the kind of place I would never have known about without my job. I also really liked this wedding because I got to do that giant branch hanging piece! It was with a lot of help from one of my coworkers who taught me a lot that week, which was great since I hardly ever get to work on the big stuff.

I made this tasty cake for my roomie's birthday but by the time I finished it was late at night and thus hard to photograph, though I did manage to capture Augusten staring longingly up at it.

My roommate has the most adorable pug and while i find him exhausting sometimes, I can't resist that face. So I made some fan art.

eggs

I think I've shared pictures of my easter eggs on here before, but I will just reiterate how much I love decorating them. Here are some of this year's batch. I made them at night so there wasn't good light for taking pictures but when I tried to redo the photos in the morning my clumsiness struck and I broke ALL MY EGGS. It was tragic because then couldn't take them anywhere to share! I've seriously had the clumsiest week ever, I hope this trend doesn't continue. In an attempt to feel better I painted my nails all crazy like.

my dining room

The dining room in my new house is quickly becoming my favorite room. The one window lets in so much light, and decor-wise it's the most cohesive. There are a bunch of repainting projects I want to do, but none of them are in this room. The two gorgeous maps have been patiently waiting to be hung up for at least 6 years, I found them outside my high school (while I still attended) and immediately snatched them up but had no wall space for them until now.

I made a flower crown at work today just for funsies. I'm growing to like roses more and more, mainly because there are so many colors and types that I didn't know about before. Garden roses are definitely the best, I wish we used them more.
