orangey

Used some random leftovers in the shop to make a little arrangement since my roommate and I threw a party this past weekend. Probably should have taken some pictures of us looking cute and whatnot, but too bad. Isn't that little elephant dude the best ever? I got him at the Holiday Indie Craft Experience market. And yes I painted pink and orange eyeballs on my mirror.

decorations

Just some little bits of holiday cheer around my house! (My kind mother sent me her camera but for a good long while I couldn't figure out how to change the format back to regular proportions, hence the elongated images.)

2014 Calendar!

This year as per requested I started like all the other calendars of the world, with Sunday. It will be $25 and I will update the paypal so it works, though I am perfectly happy (in fact would prefer) if you would like to pay me in non-internet fashions, but I realize that only works if you live in Atlanta or Tallahassee. If you would like to order multiple through paypal, please message me and I can make you a special listing so you don't pay shipping on each individual calendar. Same goes if you live out of the US.

tunes for walking

So when I walk to work in the morning I love to sing along to my music, it's not a very populated path and I get it out of my system before I am surrounded by coworkers who may not enjoy my singing as much as I do. When I really want to (pretend to) belt it out, it's Neko Case all the way. She is the coolest chick around. I saw her live for the first time and she was positively fantastic and endearing and bad ass. Her new album is great, you should give it a listen.

This is one of those songs that makes me want to dance and feel like I'm cooler than I am. It gets me pumped and prepared for work.

I listen to Rilo Kiley ridiculously a lot. In fact, all Jenny Lewis ventures are good with me. When I'm feeling angsty (which seems to be a lot these days), it's Jenny all the way. Rilo Kiley put out an album of never released tracks (Rkives) this year to the extreme happiness of obsessives such as myself.

ranunculus

These ranunculus are very reminiscent of the dahlias I posted about, they were absolutely perfect and glowing with saturated color. Something about that mix of burgundy and fuchsia is just really getting me lately!

flowers in action

Since I can't take pictures right now I thought I would share photos that the professionals took! I love seeing the photos they take because often we leave before the guests arrive, and don't witness the event. I'm especially impressed with the pictures from this one because we actually set up everything in the pouring rain only to then move it indoors, but it turned out lovely in the end!

This is one of the first big pieces I ever did and I shared pictures before, but of course on the photographer's site there are better ones!

This was a small wedding that I did all the flowers for, but didn't help set it up, so seeing the pictures was especially exciting. I mean the bride is seriously gorgeous, and the crown and bouquet compliment her so well! But that's just my humble opinion.

These ladies were seriously sweet. I caught them giving the nicest talk to the caterers right before the ceremony thanking them for all they do, and as a person who works in the event business, I know that getting thanks like that is really rare and tells you how thoughtful a person is. I actually had my mama helping me with this one since she was in town, too! Pictures here.

crowns

I did not want to give away that flower crown so I had my coworker take a picture with his phone, however it looked like a mug shot so I cropped it. The other pictures feature an adorable bride wearing another one of my crowns! In other news my camera is now all-the-way broken which puts a damper in me posting anything on here. I really need to remedy this situation.

dahlias

Ugh these dahlias were absolutely stunningly amazingly gorgeous, that color! And they were on the large side of what we usually get, I couldn't stop talking about them all week, especially because we also had burgundy/fuchsia astilbe, some other dahlias that were "black" and champagne roses, the combination was magical. I just kept wanting to smuggle them all home. (Also please don't google images of black dahlias unless you specify flowers because you will get extremely gruesome real crime photos)

treasures

These are all hand-me-downs from my grandfather, he went to school for architecture and while he didn't stick with it, apparently he kept many of his supplies and I find them incredibly lovely!
